CRAU History [cw: warning for mention of forced prostitution/sexual harassment]

GAME HISTORY

Guy was in [community profile] thegames, a Hunger Games RP, for close to 9 months as part of the Never-Ending Quell, where they quieted the flames of rebellion in the Districts by no longer pulling children from the Districts as Tributes. Instead, they pulled people from other universes to compete in their televised death Arenas, reviving them each time they died. In between arenas, each Tribute had to learn to navigate the complicated waters of over-the-top Capitol society and the PR nightmare of the Capitol trying to control their image.

Guy was pulled into the games mid-arena, making a name for himself by mercy-killing a fatally maimed teen at her request, giving her funeral rites, and killing the sociopathic Tribute who maimed her. In between arenas, like many other Tributes, he was forced to be beautified by Capitol stylists and constantly objectified by the press and public. Styled as "Gorgeous Guy" after his first death and return to the Capitol, the Capitol played up a fetishistic, "noble savage" image for him. Guy, who has a genuinely inventive mind, fairly average language faculties, and a temperament that is fairly standard by modern sensibilities, was constantly annoyed by this and the downplaying of his intelligence.

Guy was a fish out of water in this futuristic world but adapted, even if he reviled Capitol society's sterile distance from nature, rationalized cruelty, and lack of true community. Over several arenas, he bonded with other Tributes, winning over friends and allies with his caring and defensive nature and sharing the fruits of his survival skills and the abundance of gifts he got from sponsors.

The influence of these friends helped him fight against the corrupting nature of the games, though Guy's basic nature also played a big part. Guy was told many times over he'd change to become more jaded and ruthless and refused to, despite dying at least 3 times. The more opportunities he was presented where becoming ruthless made sense, the more he refused to cave on principle, preferring to die as he was rather than target strangers and friends. The more he refused to be cruel, the more he won over new friends or gained greater loyalty from the friends he had.

However, Guy was often bitterly sarcastic to low-level Capitol residents, like the stylists and escorts that controlled the Tributes' agendas, and this eventually blew up in his face. He mouthed off at Penny, the Capitol's head torturer, and one of the individuals in charge of all of the off-world Tributes, thinking her a more minor player.

[cw: mention of forced prostitution]

After an expose drawing footage from his home universe, engineered to make his family and mate look like deranged and abusive kidnappers who tried to murder him, he was opened up for bidding, the Capitol's system of forced prostitution. He was told if he didn't participate, they had a way of erasing his memory of Eep, his sloth pet Belt, and his adopted family. This would've left him with memories of being entirely alone since his parents' deaths in childhood. If he tried to escape via other methods like suicide, the Capitol threatened to kill the Tributes he was friends with.

He was dropped at that point before that started, handwaved as participating in the next arena before bidding started. He died the way all characters died in the [community profile] thegames handwaved as killed in the next arena after his drop. He'll be pulled from before his assumed perma-death.

ARENA DEATHS

Arena 8: Internal bleeding/suffocation from caved in chest after being knocked into a tree by someone with superstrength
Arena 9: Bleeding out from his throat sliced open in a mercy kill after falling into a tar pit
Mini-Arena 1: Bleeding out from his throat sliced open with a machete after feinting an attack at a friend, to put more time on the clock in a timed arena so the other Tributes could survive
Arena 10: Burned alive
